On a much more healthy note, the past few weeks have been great for sporting achievements. It started two weeks ago with Liverpool's stirring comeback from 3 - 0 down at half time in the European Champions League Final. A storming start by Liverpool in the second half and in a 6 minute spell it was 3 - 3. Liverpool went on to lift the trophy for an amazing 5th time. They get to keep old big ears as a result. Congratulations Liverpool!!

Moving on, Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton stunned the world of boxing late last night in the MEN Arena in Manchester, by stopping the legend that is Kostya Tsyzu. In a pulsating encounter, Hatton went toe to toe with Tsyzu in 11 incredible rounds. With Tsyzu's corner pulling Kostya out at the end of the 11th. It seems now the world is at Hatton's feet and there is talk he could make a trip to one of the Las Vegas Casinos to take on the likes of Diego Corrales, Gatti or Cotto. All I know is, Hatton has finally arrived on the world stage and at 26 years young, he has time on his side to become one of the best pound for pound boxers in the world.

UK Gaming Laws

The UK Gambling Bill has been approved by the House of Lords after the government scaled down plans for eight regional "super-casinos" to just one. Although we have reason to believe that the Labour party will push this back up to around 10, if elected come May 5th.

A report commissioned by ARGO and published by Europe Economics found that unless HM Treasury finds a way to reduce the potential tax liabilities for online gaming operators then there is little or no incentive for any of the major players, whose remote gaming operations are all presently based offshore, to be located in the UK when the Gambling Bill comes into force.

Subsequently Online Casino Reviewer has heard that the government may relent on the tax and match the offshore operations of Gibraltar and elsewhere by capping such as tax at 2%. This is definately one to watch.
